Remembering the dashing William Powell on the anniversary of his passing. Powell had a long and varied career in Hollywood starring alongside Carole Lombard, Jean Harlow and most famously, Myrna Loy in the “Thin Man” series. He is probably best remembered by Marilyn fans for his co-starring role in “How to Marry a Millionaire.”

MEMORIES OF MARILYN: ROBERT RYAN
Memories of Marilyn: Robert Ryan (co-star in “Clash By Night.”)
“I got the feeling she was a frightened, lonely little girl who was trying awfully hard. She always seemed to be so mournful looking around the set, and I’d always try to cheer her up. She never went out with the rest of us socially after work. I remember, after we finished the picture, she sent me a box of candy. I don’t know why.”
MARILYN’S HOLLYWOOD TOUR
Great news for Marilyn fans in the Los Angeles area: “MARILYN’S HOLLYWOOD TOUR” Hosted by “Marilyn Remembered’s” very own Elisa Jordan and “LA Woman Tours” is back.
They are running two tours, June 2nd (for Marilyn’s birthday weekend) and August 4th (for the memorial weekend) The tour describes itself as
“the definitive tour of her life and will clear up a lot of the bogus stories circulating in the media. You’ll see the orphanage where she dreamed of becoming a star, the restaurant where she met Yankee Slugger Joe DiMaggio on a blind date, the studio where she got her big break, the house (well, the gate anyway) where she passed into eternity and became the legend we all adore.
This is a Marilyn event not to be missed, for more details and to purchase your tickets: head here: https://dearlydepartedtours.com/marilyns-hollywood-tour/?fbclid=IwAR1fgp5PCg7dXNhnXkp1584EsM0nMyloZrCGoV6mNyR2hxISI0pjtHOOLfI
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEAN HARLOW
Remembering the great Jean Harlow, who was born on this day in 1911. The terms “platinum blonde” and “blonde bombshell” were invented to describe her hair color and impact on the movie screen. As many of us know, Jean made a huge impression on young Norma Jeane as seen in later years when she became Marilyn Monroe.
