Marilyn Monroe’s 1961 Golden Globe Award has been sold for a record-breaking $250,000 (£195,000) in California. The award statue for World Film Favourite Female from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association made history as the highest selling Golden Globe sold at an auction.
Marilyn also holds the record the most expensive item of clothing ever to be sold at auction when the ‘Happy Birthday Mr President’ dress sold in 2016 for a whopping $4.8 millon (£3.9 million.)
